Initiation of LAI MOUD To Demonstrate Accelerated Onboarding: A Best Practice Case Study With Kaiser Permanente Napa-Solano

In the eleventh installment of the 2026 RECADEMY 12-part series, Dr. Charles C. Whitehill, Chief of Addiction Medicine & Recovery Services (AMRS) at Napa-Solano Kaiser, took us through the experience of a patient who repeatedly expressed interest in treatment but had been very difficult to engage through the usual approaches. His team ultimately had to step back and ask a different question: What can we do differently while we still have this opportunity?

The answer involved more than simply choosing a different medication. It required rapid access, a multidisciplinary team, pharmacy support, medication availability, and the flexibility to use a long-acting injectable approach in a way that better matched the needs of the patient.

This webinar covers how to recognize and capture moments of readiness, what needs to be in place to act quickly, and how long-acting injectable MOUD can help us respond to some of the increasingly complex patients presenting for treatment today.
