Breaking Through Adoption Barriers In Evidence-Based SUD Treatment:How KCS Health Center Expanded From Basic Access To A Fully Integrated “SUD 2.0” Model
Many organizations have made significant progress in expanding access to substance use disorder treatment. But as patient populations become increasingly complex, access alone is no longer enough. Sustaining engagement, addressing co-occurring medical and psychiatric conditions, navigating social determinants of health, and supporting long-term recovery require a more comprehensive approach to care.
In this RECADEMY webinar, Mario San Bartolomé, MD, Medical Director of Substance Use Disorders at KCS Health Center, shares how his organization evolved from a traditional access-focused model into a more integrated “SUD 2.0” approach. Through a real-world case study, he explores the operational, workforce, leadership, and care delivery strategies that helped KCS build a wraparound model designed to meet the needs of high-risk and medically complex patients. Learn how KCS leveraged integrated care, workforce development, telehealth, care coordination, and community partnerships to strengthen engagement, improve continuity of care, and support more sustainable recovery outcomes.
